How ThatchKeeper separates useful owner guidance from professional advice.

Primary sources first

Where a guide discusses fire safety, conservation or planning, we prefer official fire-and-rescue services, GOV.UK, Historic England and local-authority sources. Insurance articles use specialist insurer material as examples while repeatedly reminding readers that their own policy wording controls.

No invented maintenance rules

Different homes, fuels, roofs, policies and professional recommendations can require different schedules. ThatchKeeper articles distinguish examples from requirements.

No compliance claims

The software organises the owner's records. It does not certify fire safety, roof condition, insurance compliance, electrical safety or listed-building consent.

Updates

Guides are dated and should be reviewed when the source guidance or relevant law changes.
